TO: Only Faculty, All campuses

FROM: Center for the Enhancement of Learning & Teaching

Applications are now being accepted for the August 2019 Inclusive Learning Institute.

Dates: August 20, 21, 22, 2019
Location: Medford Campus

To apply, please visit the CELT website.

In this institute, participants will explore questions of equity and inclusion in their classrooms. Through interactive workshops, discussions, and engaging activities, participants will be asked to reflect upon the following questions while provided with resources to aid them in responding:

  1. Who are the students in my class? How do I create a learning environment that supports all students, including those that are most marginalized?
  2. What are the identities, ideas and values that I hold, and how do they impact the learning environment in my classes?
  3. How can I design a course that ensures and reflects a diversity of thoughts, opinions, and forms of knowledge, particularly those that have been historically silenced and excluded in our fields and disciplines?
  4. How can I develop assessments that lead to enhanced student learning as well as foster equity?

The Institute is intended for faculty members teaching a traditional or mini course for graduate or undergraduate students. By the end of the Institute, participants will have made substantial progress on revising a syllabus and will be provided with the tools to design a course that centers on equity and inclusion.

Please note that you must be available to attend all three days of the Institute in order to apply. There is a small amount of pre-work required.

Breakfast and Lunch served every day. Free parking.
