Planned Utility Shutdowns
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during the planned electrical shutdowns on the Medford/Somerville Campus.
On Saturday, the second of three electrical shutdowns was completed. Once all three shutdowns are finalized, the plant will commence commercial operations, producing steam, hot water, chilled water and electricity to meet campus needs. Please visit Tufts Construction for more details.
As a reminder, the third and final shutdown will happen on Thursday, March 22 from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, it may be necessary to postpone the shutdown to Friday, March 23, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. As of today, rescheduling should not be necessary.
The following campus buildings will be impacted by the third shutdown:
Jackson Boiler Plant
The project team remains dedicated to communicating these shutdowns and the course of action that needs to be taken to ensure that building occupants and students remain safe during these shutdowns. As always, you are encouraged to reach out to the Tufts Construction Mitigation Team at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
