TO: Faculty and Staff, Medford/Somerville

FROM: John Crow, Capital Programs

A vacuum excavation truck will be on the center area of the Academic Quad on Saturday, October 7, Sunday, October 8 and Monday, October 9 from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.   This truck will be excavating soil in order to map underground utilities for an expansion of the campus’s underground chilled water loop that is scheduled for installation next summer.

While the work is safe and much less disruptive than digging with a backhoe – it will be noisy. The holes produced are less than two feet in diameter and will be immediately backfilled afterward.

If you have any questions, please call John Crow, Project Manager at 978-701-7476.
