FROM: Facilities Services – Recycling & Waste Management

Due to recent changes in recycling, blue-tinted liners will no longer be accepted at the recycling center:

  • Recycling Bins: Moving forward, all recycling will be collected in clear bags.
  • Landfill Bins: Blue-tinted bags will now be used to collect trash until they run out.

This photo shows what waste stations should look like with the bag changes.

Please note that the blue UFO-shaped recycling lids will remain on the recycling bins. If you see a recycling bin without a lid, please submit a work order to Facilities Services so the lid can be replaced as soon as possible.

Changes to accepted recyclables:

Please do not contaminate the recycling. Do not place the following items in the recycling:

  • Food waste
  • Plastic bags
  • Plastic wraps and films
  • Foam cups and containers

The following items can be recycled. Anything not included on this list will be treated as contamination.

  • Paper
    • Mixed paper
    • Magazines
    • Cardboard
    • Newspaper
    • Brown paper bags
    • Empty dairy and juice containers
  • Plastic
    • Empty plastic bottles
  • Metal
    • Empty aluminum cans
    • Empty tin or Steel cans
  • Glass
    • Empty glass bottles
