FROM: Charlotte Keys, Director Library Technology Services, TTS

The weekend of June 17-18 the libraries will perform migration to a new library system, Ex Libris Alma. This is the backend system that manages library collections, inventory and access across the University.  During the weekend you will not be able to place requests or make renewals through the "My Account" feature of the library catalog.  You will be able to check out items at the libraries that are open.

On Monday, we will go live with our new system as well as a new version of JumboSearch, which will entirely replace the existing library catalog.  JumboSearch offers expanded searching of articles, the Tufts Digitial Library and the libraries' Resource Guides  It also offers a Journals search of both electronic and print journals as well as a traditional catalog browse for author/title/subject/call number searching.

The new "My Account" will use Shibboleth for logins.  If you want to place requests or renew items, or save searches and citations, you will need to login first, just as you do now.

TuftsAlert system

In a significant emergency the university will attempt to communicate with the community through a variety of methods. Use of the latest available technology provides us with several ways to reach community members through public postings, information hotlines, and an emergency alert system integrating telephone, text messaging and email.
