This is a reminder of the request for applications for Tufts Collaborates and Tufts Innovates seed grants. The goals of Tufts Collaborates and Tufts Innovates are to:

• Ignite research collaboration among faculty members across disciplines; and

• Catalyze innovative ideas for learning and teaching.

Tufts Collaborates, interdisciplinary scholarship and research: Grants will be overseen by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research Simin Meydani. Please consult the program guidelines for information on program eligibility and submission requirements. Inquiries may be directed to Dr. Kirby Johnson, Director of Research Integrity and Facilitation, at collaborates@tufts.edu. The deadline for Tufts Collaborates proposal submission is Friday January 20, 2017.  

Tufts Innovates, creative teaching and learning: Grants will be overseen by the Office of Associate Provost Mark Brimhall-Vargas. Please consult the program guidelines for information on program eligibility and submission requirements. Inquiries may be directed to Julia Bruno, Special Projects Coordinator, at innovates@tufts.edu. There is special interest in proposals with a focus on teaching innovations regarding inclusion, but all proposals are welcome. Further details will be published in the coming weeks. The deadline for Tufts Innovates proposal submission is Friday January 20, 2017.

Seed grants will be awarded to faculty, students, and staff for activities that break new ground during the 2017-2018 academic year. Grants are expected to range from $500 to $50,000 for Collaborates and $500-$25,000 for Innovates. A peer‐review process will evaluate each proposal for its specific merit, potential for impact, and the degree to which the proposal adheres to the goals and guidelines of the program.
