ISO New England, the organization that operates the New England Electric Grid, is requesting voluntary electric load reductions. This is a precautionary measure; the extreme heat and associated high electric loads put stress on regional and local electric systems.
Please help by shutting off unnecessary equipment in your area, particularly between the hours of 12 pm and 8 pm for the duration of the heat wave:
- If the thermostat in your area is accessible, turn it up a few degrees
- Turn off unneeded lights
- Turn off unneeded office equipment
- Centrally controlled comfort cooling systems will be adjusted where possible
Thank you for your cooperation. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Tufts Emergency Alert System
In an emergency the university will attempt to communicate with the community through a variety of methods. Use of the latest available technology provides us with several ways to reach community members through public postings, information hotlines, and an Emergency Alert System integrating telephone, text messaging and email.
